Millions Of XRP Was Transferred Between Wallets And Exchanges
The whale tracking platform Whale Alert took to Twitter this morning to share some new insights into the recent activity of Ripple (XRP) whales. The information shared by Whale Alert reveals that multiple XRP whales are busy moving their holdings both onto or off of exchanges.
In one of Whale Alert’s tweets, the platform revealed that a whale transferred 22,000,000 XRP, worth about $10,255,327, from an unknown wallet to Bitstamp. In a second tweet, Whale Alert posted that another whale had transferred 30,400,000 XRP, worth around $14,317,998, from the crypto exchange Bitso to an unknown wallet.
Following all of this activity, XRP is currently one of the cryptos trading in the green today. CoinMarketCap indicates that the remittance token is currently worth about $0.4712 after a 3.63% price increase over the last day. This means that XRP is trading close to its daily high of $0.4715 at press time.
The crypto’s positive performance over the last 24 hours has also allowed XRP to strengthen against the altcoin market leader Ethereum (ETH) by about 0.66%. Unfortunately, this was not enough to compete with the crypto king as XRP is down 1.29% against Bitcoin (BTC). At press time, XRP is down by more than 3% over the last seven days.
The altcoin’s 24-hour trading volume currently stands at $1,056,550,023 after a 3.25% drop since yesterday. Its market cap of $24,408,991,640 means that XRP is currently ranked as the 6th biggest crypto in terms of market capitalization.
